Barbara M. Pope, MALS, have been the Reference/Periodicals Librarian and Professor at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, USA, since 2005. She handles setup and management of online periodicals, databases, LibGuides, as well as collection development and management of print and microform periodicals. She is also a liaison to the Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing, where she does one on one consultations with students and faculty on searching databases and search strategy. In addition, she does library instruction to undergraduate and graduate students and collection development of databases, books, and journals to support the program. She strives to make library services accessible and inclusive to as many learners as possible, regardless of whether they are disabled or normally abled. Pope has published articles and presented on various topics to PSU faculty and at professional conferences. Her current research interests include open access, journals, rightsizing, collection development, weeding, accessibility, the Big Deal, and supporting tenure and promotion with data about citations, downloads, and altmetrics. Previously, she worked at St. Louis College of Pharmacy in St. Louis, MO, Pratt Community College in Pratt, KS, and Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. Professor Pope attained her MALS at University of Missouri-Columbia in 1995.
